TF1, the leading French general-interest television channel - with an average audience share of 31.8% in 2007 - is an integrated communications group developing activities in growth markets around its core business.
Since 1987, when it was privatised and Bouygues (one of the world's leaders in building, civil engineering, electrical contracting and maintenance. Operating in around 60 countries) became the major shareholder, TF1 has created new activities with strong added value, building on its original business as a broadcaster and a program producer.
Today, the TF1 Group's activities cover the whole audiovisual industry: upstream in production, acquisitions and sales of audiovisual rights and also in the distribution of feature films.
Created in 1995, TF1 International is the subsidiary dedicated to the acquisition and distribution of rights in France and internationally. In this sense, it is a key added value catalyst of the heritage of rights accumulated by the TF1 Group.
TF1 International is one of the leading French distributors of international rights and is present in all major markets: Los Angeles, Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Toronto, etc...
TF1 International has demonstrated its capacity to successfully distribute a prestigious catalogue of over 1.000 French, European and American feature films: "Le Salaire de la peur", "Et Dieu Créa la femme", "Un Indien dans la ville", "Muriel's wedding", "The Piano", "Casino", "Under Suspicion" ; and also more than 18.000 hours of top-rated television programs among them: "Ushuaia Nature"(Documentaries) "Julie Lescaut", Emmy Award winning "The Poisoner" and "Murder in Mind", "A Wonderful Family" (fiction), "Marcelino Pan y Vino", "Zoé Kézako" (Animation), "Anna Nicole Smith" and "The Black Widower" (High quality American TV Movies).
TF1 International also distributes internationally for theatrical release and all rights around 15 movies per year from all nationalities: "In The Electric Mist" by Bertrand Tavernier starring Tommy Lee Jones, "I Come with the Rain" by Tran Anh Hung starring Josh Harnett', "Miracle at St. Anna" by Spike LEE, Spanish blockbuster "Captain Alatriste" starring Viggo Mortensen, Italian films "Romanzo Criminale" by Michele Placido, French films "La vie en Rose" with Marion Cotillard (Oscar awarded for Best Actress)....
TF1 International is also involved in domestic theatrical distribution via its distribution label TFM Distribution and releases all genre and nationalities films such as "The Hours" by Stephen Daldry with Nicole Kidman, "Chicago" by Rob Marshall with Richard Gere, "?The Aviator" and "The Departed" by Martin Scorsese, "Match Point" and "Scoop" by Woody Allen, "Kill Bill V1 and V2" by Quentin Tarantino, "Sicko" by Michael Moore, French local hits "Brice De Nice", "Le Dernier trappeur", "La Môme" and "Hors de Prix". TF1 International will release "Valkyrie" by Bryan Singer with Tom Cruise and "L'Emmerdeur" by Francis Veber.
Since 2005, TF1 International exclusively theatrically distributes on the French territory the films from THE WEINSTEIN COMPANY.
